    The conclusion On research operation on trajectory measurements of slits in LKAB

    During 1996 for a 1998 on territory of the LKAB corporation (Malmberget, Kiruna, Sweden) the measurements of trajectory of iron-ore slits gyroscopic inñlinometrs, development of the Geofizika corporation (Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia) and “Trend” Ltd (Miass, Chelyabinsk province, Russia) were conducted.

    The trials were conducted in very severe constraints iron-ore of mines (shafts) with the deformed magnetic field on an atitude of a polar circle. As the measurements were conducted for ascending slits of diameter 115 mm, the probability of mechanical impact effect was much above, than for petroleum and gas slits. Therefore, in addition were arranged on protection gyroscopic inñlinometrs from impact effects, especially at the moment of an input(entrance) and output(exit) of the instrument on a mouth of a slit.

    Due to adopted original engineering solutions on an instrument structure and software, it was possible effectively and with high accuracy to measure main parameters of trajectory of slits (azimuth, zenith corner, path). A dot mode of measurement with effect gyro compass have allowed up to a minimum to reduce an accumulated error of measurement.

    The outcomes of measurements from a geographical coordinate system (Q, A) were transformed to a mine coordinate system (x, y, z) and were used in the technological process of production of iron ore in LKAB, including:

  • For decrease of an output(exit) of an empty rock
  • For effective opening (Slit's) of a pioneering stage of production of iron ore in each mine
  • For effective planning of a mode of explosions at fan falling of a rock
  • For an evaluation of quality of new modern methods of percussion drilling and drilling rig SIMBA269
  • The made operation was useful, the wide experience is accumulated which can be used in perspective similar developments.
